Lisa Rogers

Board Member

B.S. Computer Science 1993

Lisa began NSU in 1989 as a DNIMAS Scholar. She was a Silkette in the Spartan Legion Band and was initiated into the Epsilon Theta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sororty, Inc. in 1992. Lisa’s fondest memory of NSU was when the Class of 93 convinced the directors of the DNIMAS Scholarship program that we were smart enough to participate in extracurricular activities and maintain their grades. “From 1986 through 1990, DNIMAS scholars were not allowed to participate in anything that was not academic. In the Spring of 1990, I tried out for the flag squad of the mighty Spartan Legion, made the squad, and marched until my graduation in 1993. So being able to march into the stadium as a member of the Spartan Legion for the first time in the Fall of 1990 is an experience I will always cherish, plus the opportunity to march under the direction of the great Emery Fears and the late Alzie Walker.”

Lisa currently works as a Lead Technologist for Booz Allen Hamilton on various contracts supporting the Department of Defense. She is the mother to one son, Andre, and grandmother to one grandson, Makai. She enjoys doing graphic design on the side, is actively involved with the Portsmouth Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and is a member of several other organizations including I.C. Norcom Alumni Association, NCNW, and Long Point Civic League.
